Useful information

Description

This institute is part of the huge Birmingham university campus, a typical English red-brick university with an extraordinary 100m high bell tower known as the Chamberlain tower. This collection was created thanks to the bequest of the widow of Sir Henry Barber. The entirely pre-1900 collection includes works from Italy (Bellini, Cima da Conegliano), Flanders (Breughel the Younger, Rubens, Van Gogh), France (Poussin, Ingres, Courbet, Gauguin, Van Gogh) and England (Gainsborough, Turner).
