Royal Natal National Park in the north of Drakensberg features several peaks over 3,000m-high, including the Mont-aux-Sources (3,282m). Various hiking and horseback riding trails, such as the Gorge Trail, crisscross the park, leading to Bushmen rock painting sites, among others. Unfortunately, many of them have been severely damaged. The park's highpoint is the Amphitheatre, a basalt cirque of enormous proportions over which pour huge waterfalls from the Tugela River.
