It is here, particularly in the small village of Pariangana that you will see the legendary rumah gadang, large traditional wooden houses of the Minangkabau. In another genre, admire the palace of Pagaruyung, whose reconstitution is admirable, both in terms of dimension and style. The Moon Palace is smaller, but equally richly decked out in floral motifs.
