Far from a mere viaduct, the Farola road is more a work of art built by titans and funambulists. Crossing the luxurious vegetation of the Sierra del Purial, the winding road hugs the mountain's edge, although it may not always seem so! After Veguita del Sur, the road becomes even more serpentine and with each twist and turn unveils another breath-taking panorama (notably, the watchtower of Alto de Cotilla). After that begins the descent towards the coast with Baracoa 30km/19 mi away.
