Description
In the building of the Pia Almoina (14C), which houses a fine Gothic gallery and the Sala Mayor, decorated with mural paintings, the museum presents the history of the region from the earliest times up to the Middle Ages. The palaeontology and prehistory rooms house the vestiges of archaeological sites of the Pla de l'Estany region. They include the well-known replica of the Lower Palaeolithic jawbone found in Banyoles.
