The Michelin Guide's review
An alternative to the faster-paced Trans-Canada Highway. Sightings of elk, stags, black bear and coyote are not uncommon. Curving through evergreen forests along the north bank of the Bow River, the route offers a stunning view of the Sawback Range to the northeast (in particular, crenellated Castle Mountain). Frequent lookouts feature information panels about regional geology, flora and fauna.
