Ban Xeo
The Green Guide

Useful information

Description

Situated on the Chinese border, Ban Xeo (the main village and market centre in the district of Bat Xat) and its neighbouring hamlets are home to the Nhang (or Giay), Black Hmong and Flower Hmong groups with their brightly coloured costumes. Here you'll also see the cylindrical headdresses of the Red Dao women, which are made from material decorated with peonies, and which are different from those worn by women elsewhere in the country. The village is accessed via a road, followed by a rough track through the rice fields.
