The Michelin Guide's review
Dug by the fierce torrents of the Corsican high mountains, the Vallée de l'Asco is reached via a single road that ends in a cul-de-sac (D 147). Its forests and wild gorges harbour a varied wildlife which includes species endemic to the island: bearded vultures, sittidae, and, most prominently, mouflons. Juniper and wild flowers are strewn over the deep gorges while forests of European Black Pines and Maritime pines blanket the upper valley.
