Description

Just 45km as the crow flies, but over 180km by road... the largest of the West Fjords is made up of a multitude of secondary fjords, with wild, almost desert landscapes. Route 61 connects Arngerðareyri to Ísafjörður, passing through warm-water springs close to Hotel Reykjanes, Heydalur Farm, which is recommended to nature lovers, or via the island of Vigur, which is home to puffins, guillemots, Arctic terns and eiders... Happy wandering!
