Useful information
Description
An octagonal fountain built in 1857 marks the centre of the Place de la République, Altkirch's main square. Placed upon it is a statue of the Virgin Mary (15C), the only vestige of the old church, which was transformed into a silk-ribbon factory after the French Revolution.
