In addition to Alonissos itself, four smaller islands (Pelagos, Gioura, Psathoura and Piperi) make up this national marine park to the north of the island. Visitors have a chance to see Audouin's gulls, European shags and monk seals, of which only around a hundred or so individuals remain in the Mediterranean. A permit is needed to land here, but you could make do with a boat trip, with the possibility of seeing a few dolphins in the water with you.
