Useful information

Description

From its perfect setting on top of a hill, the Alcazaba overlooks Almería and the bay. The fortress was built in the 10C by Abd-er-Rahmán III and later enlarged during the taifa period by local rulers Jayrán and Almotacín, who created a magnificent Moorish palace. Following the Reconquest, the Catholic Monarchs built a Christian alcazar here. Explore the remains of its three fortified enclosures, as well as enjoy magnificent views from its parapets.
