Description
To the north of Amami-Ōshima island, in an idyllic natural setting at the foot of the mountain, the Ōshima Tsumugi workshop creates elegant silk kimonos decorated with discreet stripes. The elaborate production process - involving a 1 300-year-old dyeing technique - includes phases of colouring baths with wood, baths of mud outside to set the colour, and drying and assembling the threads on old looms. Charming Japanese garden with minerals and lush vegetation.
