Amacayacu National Park
The Green Guide

Useful information

Description

This national park comprises several very different ecosystems, incorporating marshland and forest, dry land and flooded soil. Giant Victoria regia water lilies can be found growing in the swampy areas, as can two trees endemic to the region, the "cow tree" with its milky sap, and the munguba, used for making canoes. Astonishing grey and pink-coloured dolphins swim in the park's waters and the site is also home to the largest terrapin in the world.
