Sakaki was founded in 1954 as a restaurant serving Western dishes. The fourth owner-chef, Daisuke Sakakibara, who earned his culinary spurs in France, changed the format, serving Western fare for lunch and French cuisine in the evenings. Dinner is prix fixe but with a comprehensive menu leaving plenty of choice. Seafood appetisers reflect Sakakibara’s experiences in the south of France; main courses centre on traditional fare such as roast lamb and beef cheek stewed in red wine.
