Before anything else, be sure to order the Obanzai Moriawase. The simple flavouring of this assortment of Kyoto cuisine side-dishes, such as shira-ae and vinegared burdock, makes a great companion for drinks. The line-up ranges from familiar offerings such as decorative sashimi and fried foods to Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes accented with a touch of creativity. The restaurant name derives from a movie about a couple who grew old together. The couple who manage Izakaya Tokitame also gather beautiful moments with their guests as time marches on.
