This restaurant is tucked away at the end of Lane 24, Pontocho-dori, a narrow alley stretching to the west. It caters to customers’ desires by offering sushi and dishes that can be enjoyed à la carte. Unusually for a sushi restaurant, it serves beef dishes, including char-grilled wagyu beef and rolls of beef and sea urchin. Tuna, served at the perfect time to ensure the flavour is at its best, is a joy. The extensive menu amply fulfils the shop’s role as a counter-style restaurant serving traditional cuisine. Naturally, the omakase (daily changing set menu) set meal is recommended.
