Useful information

Description

Douzhi, the fermented mung bean milk with a slightly sour and somewhat acquired taste, is considered a healthy breakfast drink that strengthens the stomach and neutralises the grease in food. It is served with spicy pickled mustard stems to tone down the acidity. This shop also sells flaky shaobing flatbread and fried dough rings known as jiaoquan. Grab one of each, a bowl of douzhi and add a hard-boiled egg for a typical breakfast in Beijing.
