This is undoubtedly one of the most interesting museums in Java. You can discover Dông-Sôn bronzes from eastern Indonesia, megalithic statues from Wonosari, sumptuous bronze Hindu goddesses (10th-12th c.) from Gunung Kidul, and pottery and terracotta illustrating Mojopahit art. The collection of puppets is fascinating. Don't miss the collection of Hindu statues and gargoyles stored outside. Inaugurated in 2022, the new museum building houses a different exhibition on each level.
