  The Michelin Guide's review
The Great Hall (34x17x17m) is the only surviving part of this castle built in Norman times (1222-36) and it is a splendid example of a medieval hall, with its exposed timber rafters supported by Purbeck marble columns. Standing by the western wall is the round table (5m diameter) made of oak that is mentioned in the 14C archives. It is decorated with paintings depicting the Tudor Rose and King Arthur (centre) and, all around, the names of his knights.
