The Michelin Guide's review
Established in 1933, Riding Mountain National Park is named after Mt Riding, which is part of the Manitoba Escarpment. This mountain range stretches 1 600km through North Dakota, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Divided by numerous rivers into distinct hills, it is covered with lush vegetation and dotted with lakes. Its aspen forests, bogs and grasslands are inhabited by moose and elk, bears, foxes, great grey owls and songbirds.
