From the refuge (alt. 2,462 m), there is a view of the Épicoune glacier, and to the west of Mont Avril, the Boussine tower, the Combin de Tsessette (4,141 m) and the Tournelon Blanc, which form a mighty wall of rock. A pleasant ridge path leads up to the Col de Tsofeiret. The first part of the ascent is relatively easy and offers a fleeting view of the Brenay glacier, while the final section is very steep, even vertiginous.
