The De Pont foundation was created by a Tilburg businessman, Jan de Pont (1915-1987), who had an interest in promoting contemporary art. The museum is housed in the old wool mill and is illuminated mainly by natural light. Exhibits include works by R. Serra, M. Dumas, T. De Cordier, G. Merz, A. Kapoor, J. Turrell, J. Dibbets, M. Schouten, R. Birza, G. Geelen and R. Long. An artist is invited to work in the museum garden in summer.
