The Rama Khamhaeng National Museum offers a good introduction to the park and makes for a pleasant visit when it's too hot to walk around outside. The museum brings together fragments of architectural decor from Sukhothai, as well as Si Satchanalai and Kamphaeng Phet, and its collection of Buddhas demonstrates the evolution of Sukhothai art and its various influences. One of the first exhibits that you see in the museum is the elegant 14C walking Buddha.
