The Michelin Guide's review
The most prestigious site in the Vis Valley, amid the Causse de Blandas (Gard) and the Causse de Larzac (Hérault), was designated a "Grand Site de France" in 2017. Here, the river forms an immense and impressive meander that turns back on itself, enclosed by incredibly steep slopes. Originally the Vis encompassed a small promontory that it abandoned at the site where the town of Navacelles came to be established. The bottom of the valley has remained humid and green ever since.
