The Michelin Guide's review
Rebuilt from 1396 to replace the priory, Prieuré de St Flour, the Gothic church was completed in the mid-15C. The lines of the nave and aisles are strikingly simple. Beneath the organ loft, a 15C mural depicts purgatory and hell. Opposite the pulpit, admire the large wooden Christ (12C), known as the "Beautiful Black God", the 15C Pietà in the Chapelle St Jean Baptiste and the gilded bronze reliquary containing the relics of St Flour, in the apse chapel.
