The mission of this park, which has an outpost in Seattle, is to preserve the Chilkoot Trail, now a recreational byway, and much of the historic district, with its false-fronted buildings and wooden sidewalks. The brothels and gambling dens of old have been turned into souvenir shops and restaurants.
