The Michelin Guide's review
This huge, imposing castle with a square keep, sitting on a ridge, dominates Schwaz and offers an impressive view of the Inn valley and the town. It was built by the Knights of Freundsberg in the early 12C, then sold three centuries later to Archduke Sigmund, Count of Tyrol. The chapel and Schwaz Town Museum, housed in the keep, are also open to the public.
