  The Michelin Guide's review
The Close, spacious and mellow with the ancient stone and terracotta bricks of its 16-18C houses, was enclosed in the 1330's to protect it against the "riotous citizenry". The walls are of stone from the abandoned cathedral and castle of Old Sarum. In the northwest corner is a secondary close, known as the Choristers' Close.
