The lovely village of Rožen consists of a small square lined with picturesque houses dating from the National Awakening period. The road climbing to Rožen Monastery leads to an open plateau where you can see, near a church, the flower-decked grave of Jane Sandanski, the hero of the struggle for the liberation of Bulgarian Macedonia.
