Prague Castle: St Guy's
Michelin Guide
Worth the trip
Religious monument
The Michelin Guide's review
Built on the vestiges of its Romanesque predecessors, the glorious cathedral is the largest church in the country, its towers and pinnacles rising well above the Castle's surrounding walls. The first stone was laid in 1344, but work was officially completed until 1929. Partly austere, partly very inventive, its architecture is embellished with a multitude of decorative elements, from the sumptuous Renaissance and Baroque tombs, to the extraordinary early-20C stained-glass windows.
