"Silk Island" represents a pocket of Khmer countryside on the doorstep of the capital. A 20km/12mi-road loops around the island, passing cassava and banana trees plantations, mango and papaya orchards and vast rice paddies. Wooden houses on stilts line the road, and the island's women can often be seen seated weaving silk, continuing the ancestral tradition that gave Koh Dach island its name.
