The Michelin Guide's review
Following the destruction of the original palace on the Chaillot hill, in 1937 Carlu, Boileau and Azéma rebuilt the side wings and cleared the central section to open up the perspective of the Eiffel Tower. This new palace is home to the vast Théâtre National de Chaillot. In the centre, the esplanade (of the Rights of Man), decorated with gilded bronze statues, leads to an expansive terrace offering a superb view of the Eiffel Tower. The gardens date from the 1937 Universal Exhibition.
