In this whimsically designed alternative to the formal and scientific presentations of national and state-park botanical displays, a profusion of strange and curious plants from the world's deserts flourishes in a dense and diverse environment usually associated with tropical rain forests. The garden's two acres are home to some 3 000 species (some plants are available to purchase, while most are only on display). Hummingbirds are attracted by the many different plant species here.
