Climbing to the summit of Mt Kynthos is worthwhile, less to see the vestiges scattered about than for the view over Delos and the Cyclades, which is superb in clear weather. On the way to the top, you go past the ruins of the Sanctuary of Agathe Tyche, which lie in front of Heracles's holy cave, nothing more than a crack in the rock, where a statue of the hero once stood, and which is sheltered by a double-sloped roof of granite slabs.
