The Michelin Guide's review
The Église Notre-Dame de Morienval originally belonged to a women's abbey founded by Dagobert in the 7C and destroyed by the Vikings in 885. Reconstruction of the church and monastery began in the 11C. In the 17C the Abbess Anne II of Foucault made several amendments, which are marked with her monogram (on the keystones in the nave). The abbey itself has barely changed since the 12C, with the ambulatory being the oldest part of it. Don't miss the Statue of Notre-Dame de Morienval (17C).
