Inside the moat surrounding Matsuyama Castle, to the south of the property, Bansui-so Villa is an impressive Neoclassical French-style edifice. It was built in 1922 by Count Hisamatsu Sadakoto, the 15th lord of the castle. It is now an annex of the Art Museum of Ehime prefecture and exhibits 20C Japanese art.
