The Michelin Guide's review
To the right of Selimiye Mosque, a fine Gothic portal is decorated with a Dormition of the Mother of God. It belongs to the former St Nicholas Church of the English, built in the 13C and 14C. The Turks transformed it into a bazaar (bedestan). Today, whirling dervish displays are put on here. Behind the Bedestan, the municipal market (Belediye Pazari) has been nicely restored. It houses shops selling local products.
