The Michelin Guide's review
Panarea, the smallest of the Aeolian Islands, reaches its highest point at Punta del Corvo (420m), the western slope of which plunges almost vertically into the sea. In the area around Punta Milazzese, the remains of a prehistoric village dominate the attractive bay of Cala Junco. Among the rocks and islets that fringe the island, the terrible Formiche caused many shipwrecks in ancient times.
