A succession of buildings preceded the existing palace built for Empress Maria Theresa. Its long façade, flanked by two domed towers, is characteristic of late Baroque architecture in 18C Innsbruck. Measuring 31.5m in length, the Giants' Hall is the most remarkable state room, whose walls are lined with porcelain-finished stucco and a ceiling fresco, glorifying the triumph of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine.
