Make sure you take time to visit one of the old Chinese houses for which Hoi An is justly famous, the well- preserved Quan Than at 77 Tran Phu, which is open to the public. The majority of these houses are still inhabited by the descendants of their founder. Visitors should show respect and discretion here: keep to the older parts of the house and the entrance rooms, making sure you do not enter the private areas or take photos of the people inside.
