This museum, born out of cooperation between the cities of Toulouse and Hanoi, charts 1000 years of the history of the heart of Hanoi. Initially a trading centre divided into guilds, it was urbanised according to European norms during Colonisation, then became a residential neighbourhood under Communism. Today the district's historic trading vocation has been restored, albeit sometimes marred by over-exuberant advertising and real estate projects!
