At 2 964m, the Zugspitze is the highest peak in Germany commanding an exceptional panorama which takes in Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria. You can reach the top by a rack railway train, cable car or, for the more energetic, on foot. In winter, this is a popular downhill skiing resort.
