  The Michelin Guide's review
The ruins you see on the right as you enter Dar-Caid-Hadji are the Hamidouch Kasbah dominating the left bank of the Tensift River near its mouth. This large fortress dates back to Sultan Moulay Ismaïl (1672-1727). The exterior walls, flanked by bastions and topped by merlons, still look quite imposing despite the ravages of time. 150m long on all four sides, they enclose another 70m wall surrounded by a wide ditch, in addition to a mosque and the ruins of various buildings.
