 Well worth the diversions
Historical and archaeological site
  The Michelin Guide's review
A fabulous series of pyramids graces the site of the Dashur Necropolis: out of the 11 found, five remain, including the so-called Bent or Double Pyramid, a nickname probably due to its two doors to the north and west. Its other peculiarity is the incline of the sides, reduced by 10 degrees from 45m high, which allowed the pyramid to be built up to 100m high, and decreased the risk of cracks forming. It was built by Snefru, founder of the IV Dynasty.
