Perched on a narrow, rocky outcrop (729m), Quéribus castle, the last Cathar refuge, is battered by the winds. A genuine eagle's nest overlooking the Corbières and Fenouillèdes, it faces its big brother, Peyrepertuse Castle, both "Sons of Carcassonne". A rough beauty depicts these now solitary grandiose ruins, which dared to defy the king in former times.
