  The Michelin Guide's review
From Cassis, head towards La Ciotat on the Route des Crêtes, dotted with panoramic viewpoints created to enjoy the mountains in the Cap Canaille massif, with spectacular cliffs (the highest in France) overlooking the sea. The word ''canaille'' comes from the Latin Canalis mons, ''the mountain of the waters'', due to the aqueducts built by the Romans to channel its fresh water. From the guardrail there's a remarkable view of the awesome sheer cliff, the Puget massif and coves, the Marseilleveyre massif and the islands.
