The Michelin Guide's review
Cardona's salt mine has been exploited since Roman times and is a 170 m mountain with many salt deposits. This is a unique geological phenomenon: when salt crystallises in its galleries (some are 1,000 m deep), large transparent stalactites and stalagmites form. Visiting one of the galleries will take you into a magical world.
