The cable car journey, above pine forests and pastures, commands fine views to the right over the wooded gorge and the blue Sämtisersee. From the belvedere on the summit, which is easily reached alongside the restaurant of the upper resort, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the town of Appenzell, the Rheinthal, Lake Constance and the Liechtenstein mountains. In the background lie the Austrian Alps and the Alpstein range, dominated by the Säntis.
