Belfast City Hall

 Michelin Guide
 Interesting
Civil and military monument
  The Michelin Guide's review
Construction of the impressive city hall began at the end of the Victorian era and was completed in 1906. The Classical-style buildings are adorned with a smattering of Rococo-inspired features; the copper dome supported by columns is reminiscent of Washington's Capitol building. The pompous and grandiloquent interior harks back to the history of Belfast. Of particular interest, in the lobby, is the original Royal Charter granted to Belfast by James I in 1613.
